Read Me

Hello! Aaron Schwartz here. Thanks for taking the time to dig this far into my online presence. I appreciate it greatly. Here's a few interesting facts about my persona and what I like doing and making.

I'm the son of a Swiss mother and South African father who met in London and got married in Vancouver. I've lived in both Vancouver and Switzerland for 10+ years, but I currently reside in North Vancouver where I'm hoping to stay and work. I am a graduate of the Communication Design program at Emily Carr, where I learned a thing or two about design, as well as a few things about myself.

I enjoy traveling, a lot. My family is fairly wide spread, which allows me to visit a lot of cool places quite frequently. Going out and seeing different places, meeting new people, and taking in new sights serves as optimal experience for a person with a camera and a sketchbook. It counts as one of the main sources of inspiration for me. That, and people. And music.

Pictures and words are my two favourite things to work with. Often I like putting them together in some kind of fashion. I'm a hand type enthusiast and enjoy the occasional doodle. I'm a fan of both the snapshot and the elaborately composed image. Papers, fine liners, markers, pencils, computers, cameras and lenses are tools I often use to make things. I enjoy working by hand as well as on screen. I can't say I prefer either method, in fact, I like mixing them together in various ways.

I guess I'd like to call myself a photo-typo-graphic-designer. If that's a thing.

There also a little thing called MONSTER MASH, a blog where you'll find anything that doesn't make it on here, like random doodles and snapshots, works in progress, and more.
